Katie Schultz from the Mitten: Tasty, but a serious commitment of time.
Chessa: Dough needs water to come together. Filling burned before tops browned - this recipe is amateur (and made me look amateur, too!)
Alice W.: The perfect blend of sweet and tart.
Rachel R: I wanted to love this; it was easy enough to make, but the flavor was as boring as listening to golf on the radio. A pop of citrus or a sweetener other than white sugar might give this one-note cookie some depth, but for now I'll be tuning into another station (or the latest Serial podcast)
David: Just 6 basic ingredients and a rather simple recipe: how good could these be? Really good!
Lisa: Are these cookies worth all the fussy steps they take to make? Not in this house- we all decided we would have rather had Linzer cookies.
Sarah S: My husband's coworkers thought these were great (food is generally delicious when it's free!). I thought the Rugelach was just OK, and not worth all of the steps.
K-Squared in the Kitchen: These cookies took too much time for their only mediocre "pretty factor" and moderate "taste factor." Perhaps baking at a higher temperature and shorter time one could achieve ideal browning (see disappointing photo).
Cay Y: These buttery bites of deliciousness were easy and fun to make. I could see these as a timeless old world recipe featured in the best Jewish bakeries in Brooklyn, NYC!
Elizabeth: Nice enough cookies and not that hard to make, but such a poorly organized recipe! Just two examples: if an ingredient is to be divided, tell me in the listing -- and don't make me guess, after I had frozen the cookies as specified, that the baking temperature is the same as the one used three days before to prep another ingredient.
Griffin: Extremely delicious, except they need more jam and more nuts. We made a second batch with Nutella, strawberry jam, and roasted walnuts and pecans, and we recommend it.
Heather T: If all "cookies" were this size, I'd gain a lot more than 5 pounds during the holidays! Dry and unremarkable, aside from the amount of time it took to make them.
Sharon Jayne: I followed the recipe to a T, and it needs work!! Cookies are tasty, and with some adjustments, would make a great addition to a cookie swap.
Marion Byne: "Just Like Mom's" This Rugelach recipe was easy, would advise anyone to try, I followed recipe exactly; a tender, delicious cookie that I will make again.
Shruti: DISASTER! Dough was way too mushy even after freezing them, completely fell apart in the oven.
