Milk Chocolate-Dipped Hazelnut Sandies

Taylor and Janet Bain: These delicious nutty and buttery cookies melt in your mouth, but the instructions left much to be desired. Novice bakers beware!

Ann: These buttery, not-too-sweet cookies would pair well with coffee. Dispute my love of cocoa nibs, these are just too buttery for my taste, but they will make a nice gift.

Laura B: These buttery, flaky cookies were a joy to look at and eat! Strong hazelnut flavor balanced perfectly by the sweet milk chocolate.

Sandra G: After a day-long search I declared my small town cocoa nib-less and substituted a grind of dark cocoa coffee beans.  The result was a savory sweet cookie that would pair well with your favorite Venti cup.

Jessica P.: This cookie was labor intensive - not highly difficult, just a lot of steps that in the end were not worth the effort. The final product lacked the diversity of flavor I was expecting from the hazelnuts, milk chocolate, and cocoa nibs...meh.

Kelly O: Good, but not the show-stopper I was expecting from the level of effort (and amount of butter) involved.

Judy M.: Add this to your cookie recipe list, easy to make. Recommend dipping chocolate less than 1/2 or cookie would be too sweet.

Erin: Buttery, nutty delicious dipped in chocolate = win if you have plenty of time on hand for allllllll of the steps.

Cecilia: Good,  not great cookies.  Simple enough for a toddler to help, but special enough to keep for future Christmas cookie parties.

Laura Osborne: It was difficult to find the cocoa nibs and when I first tasted them by themselves, I was very unsure. But this was a simple recipe to follow and it gave plenty of sophisticated cookies to share!

CathieG: 6 out of 10 - super crumbly even when I made bigger portions; not too sweet and great texture.  We make about 50 dozen cookies each holiday season - this might get repeated every few years but didn't rise to the very top ;)

Sarah T.: Sadly, the perfect word to describe these cookies is: "Meh." The crumbly cookie is lacking in flavor, even with the hazelnuts and cocoa nibs, and comes across mainly as a vehicle for the milk chocolate.

Johannna: 8th grade girls say, "Scrumptious, a delicious balance of taste and texture." 12th grade daughter says, "not my favorite cookie.  Kind of crumbly."
