Fall is upon us, and the October food magazines are all about one thing: comfort.

Whether it's the roast beef on Saveur, the roast pork on Bon Appétit, the chili on Everyday Food or the pot pies on Martha Stewart Living, the October food mags want to swaddle you in comfort food. (The Oct/Nov issue of Fine Cooking even has a sneak peak at the High Holy Day of comfort food: Thanksgiving.)
