We have a running list of things we'd like to do here on the blog -- some of them we get to in short order, while some of them languish in Google doc purgatory.
One that's been on that list for a long time is to attempt to cook every recipe in a single issue of a food magazine over the course of a month. What would it be like to make 60+ new recipes in a month? And what would we learn from the experience?
Well, we still think it's a great idea, but every time it comes up, we balk because the month is too busy. But then we had an epiphany: What if you cooked along with us?!
So we're enlisting you, dear Bittens. Come on board for The Super Awesome Cover-to-Cover Challenge!
Here's what we're going to do:
The week of October 15, we're going to showcase every recipe from the October issue of a food magazine. We'll cook some, you'll cook some, and together, we'll cover dish, no matter how crazy they might be.
How many dishes are we talking?
We're thinking it will be around 60 recipes, based on what's in most magazines. So we're going to need at least 60 of you to participate. (That, or Zach's poor mother is going to have to make 30 dishes on her own.)
But what magazine?
We're going to put it to a vote. This Wednesday, we'll lay out the options, and let you pick the magazine.
What will you have to do if you participate?
You'll make one dish that's assigned to you (we won't make you make something that's against your dietary restrictions). We'll give out assignments before October 1. You'll need to make the recipe, and send us an email with a photo (no fancy photo skills required) and your thoughts on the dish. The info will be due to us by October 12, so you have nearly three weeks to do your cooking. We'll publish at least 10 of them a day, starting October 15.

Leave a comment here on this post, letting us know if you're in. When you comment, be sure to use an active email address so we can contact you with your assignment. We're going to need a bunch of you to pull this off. So sign up!
What's in it for you?
If you complete the project with us, you'll have our undying affection. Hopefully there will be some prizes too.

NEW UPDATE! We've gotten so many amazing responses, but we just had to cap the number of participants. So unfortunately we can't take any more people this time around. We'll do this challenge again soon, though!
